A Grand Party!

Le Suilon, my beloved kinfolk,
We are going to have a great party to celebrate many things but mainly a House Warming for our new Kinhall. Also, we will have our Great Fall Hunt at this party with many prizes of finely made things. Prizes are even now being collected from kinfolk including wonderful mastery items of all kinds. The Halls of Thorin and the benches in Ered Luin have crafters busy round the clock making beautiful prizes and gifts for our big celebration. And this time, we are going to celebrate birthdays! My birthday is on November 21. All those with birthdays this month, this is your time for celebrating (character birthdays, of course). So keep watching for more news.
Where? In our new Kinhall
When? November 17 at 8pm EST
Mark those calendars now! This will be our biggest PARTY ever. A grand event with the blessing of our new home, the hunt, and the birthdays. Be sure to be there and meet all your kinfolk and many, many guests. More later as it develops.

Good Kinfolk,
So far the great celebration is shaping up. Fair Perila and Jasz will be our hostesses serving you drinks and pipeweed. Fireborn has graciously volunteered to arrange the musik for us. Tarlwyn has contributed a case or two of Old Wineyards for this. I will bring some ale (Barliman is brewing it now.). But we will need other drinks too for those of us who prefer sweeter things. And we will need lots of pipeweeds for folks. Anyone interested, just let me know if you can provide some of the refreshments.
There will be a
Riddle Contest!
In fine hobbit tradition, you may try to stump your kinfolk and guests with a puzzler. So search for a really good riddle. Prizes for those who have the stumpers and prizes for those who guess it rightly.
We are going to invite guest kinships to join us and other special guests. So please feel free to seek out your friends and give them a golden invitation to our
Warming of the Kinhall Party
.
More to follow, let's mark our calendars and don't miss this event. Musikans, dancing, and lots of fun for all. Come and meet your kinfolk and greet our guests.
Cheers,
Digger

My apologies master Digger, for I always seem to make things more difficult. There is absolutely no way that I can see myself making this grand event.
((It is my nieces b-day party that day and I will be out of town, and if by some luck the date is changed, it will be my own birthday party that day. I am pretty much booked up for every saturday in November for birthday parties though, so don't go rescheduling anything as it will be impossible to predict when I can make it.))
I was about to offer my services until I checked my calendar. If you need any aid as far as storage, or Silver, or anything of the sort, please allow me to help in that way.

Mighty Hosklar and Renowned Dwarf,
Now, I am becoming suspicious of all this with your not making the party. We have an issue about who can drink more - dwarf or hobbit. I was hoping to settle this once and for all at our party, but now I see that you are 'claiming' to have other commitments. Hmm. Could it be that dwarves really can't hold their ale as well as hobbits? Will we ever know the truth of this? Inquiring minds want to know.
On a more serious note, I am so sorry that you can't make any November dates. We will miss you terribly and your cheerful companionship. Not to worry though, we will be having more events like this one, and birthdays are important to celebrate. I will gladly call upon your help as we learn more from those who are busy at work preparing for this grand event now. I assure you, the letters are out, orders are being placed throughout Eriador. Even the Rangers are considering sending some things for this party. Who knows who might be there? And the prizes? Well, I have only heard what is being made, but they are delicious and very awesome.
Cheers, drinking buddy,

Le suilon Digger,
I'll do my best to make this event as I've been so adept at missing them in the past, perhaps this time I'll leave my warhelm at home and bring something to keep my mind warm for riddling instead. Too much time is spent hewing at orcs rather than thinking over mugs of mead as of late.

As soon as I learn the skill of teaching others, you, my beloved kinfolk, will be at the top of my list to train. And Fireborn, your natural talents place you first to train. I must say, since I can play the harp, that the classical tunes are truly lovely on it. But I am looking forward to bagpipes and cowbells. lol If I can before the party, Master Fireborn, we will have you trained in the harp.

I volunteer my skills for the party as a cook to provide whatever refreshments, such as blueberry muffins, mushrooms pies, etc., that the organizers may like. So please let me know what kinds of goodies you all would like prepared and in what quantities. Do not worry about cost although for certain items I may ask for farmers to help with supplies that I cannot procure through the novice or expert cooks.
Yours truly,
Iryanna

Fairest Iryanna,
How generous of you to make this offer. For one game, Pass the Pie, I need about 10 mushroom pies. These aren't refreshments, but items in that game. Also, drinks are a problem because almost all are strong stuff, and many of our elven kindred prefer sweeter, less woozy drinks (not Hosklar, of course). Perhaps, you know of some recipe for an elf-friendly drink? If you could make those and bring them with you, that would be most appreciated. I know that others like stouter foods that build their strength or boost their spirits, so I leave those requests to them and to your good Chef's judgment.
Thank you so much,

Digger,
Why are all the events planned for days that I can not make!?!
I will be on-duty that night and, unfortunately, unable to attend this fine event. I hope the Kinship Hall will be purchased a couple days before the event so I can tour it. Save some muffins and wine for me!!!
Respectfully,

My good kinfolk and friends,
Now that we are getting close to purchasing our new kinhall, celebration preparations are getting into full swing. My bags are filling up with prizes and things for our grand event, and the good dwarves of Thorin's Halls are hard at making several more prizes for us. So, time to get ready everyone for the biggest RP event on Nimrodel ever - the Blessing of the Kinhall of the Tinnu uin Galadhrim!
First:
Leaders are needed for the
Great Hunt of the Fall
-
Beleg Faras uin Iavas
. We need four folks to lead the hunting fellowships in this contest. Please let me know if you can be one of the team leaders. Venues should be chosen so that all members of a team can hunt in that area. Each team will have a separate venue. Leaders will pick the venues and the main quarry for the hunt (a named creature). Fireborn, Perila, Orophor, Mordorrain, Aelanor, and anyone else with enough advancement to ensure a safe hunt for their fellowships - please step up and lead a team!
Second:
We need folks who can bring the party favors in their bags and hand them out. Jasz and Perila will be our hostesses with refreshments, but we have hats and robes for all kinfolk that must be distributed. I shall be making these as late as possible so you won't have to hold them a long time. With about 30 of each of these, I need several volunteers to help with the party favors here. Let me know if I can send you these robes, hats, and dyes so all of our kinfolk have the celebration outfits as they arrive. Post to me in-game or here if you can help with this.
Third:
Games are going to be played right after the Hunt, and one of those is called
Pass the Pie
. This is a fun game where I start out trading 10 mushroom pies to folks. Then these pie-holders pass the 'pies' along to someone else. But the fun is to change the 'pie' to something equal or better when you trade it off. So these 'pies' start as mere mushroom pies, but after being passed around a bit, they become whatever gifts that you bring to substitute for the 'pie' you get. When stop is called, whoever has the 'pie' shows it and keeps it. And all who traded around keep whatever they exchanged their 'pie' for. So bring gifts to exchange when it comes your turn to get and pass the pie.
Finally:
Refreshments are being provided by Iryanna and myself for drinks. She is brewing up a special drink for our elven guests who prefer lighter fare. I will bring wine from Tarlwyn's cellar and Barliman is again cooking a special brew of ale just for us. Jasz and Perila will pass out refreshments to all as they greet guests and kin alike. We are going to need lots of drinks for this. And we need
PIPEWEED
s. So those of you who grow this wonderful thing, please let me know if you can make us about 100 bags (2 stacks) for our hostesses to share with everyone. We want to provide fine pipeweed, so here is your chance to farm the good stuff and send it along for the celebration.
Mark you calendars! The celebration is coming soon! Let's gather our kinship for a rousing party and a grand hunt. Many guests are coming including other kinships, so we want to do this right and in our way of sharing fun and good times with folks. More details as the work begins to celebrate in the grand style we enjoy.
Post you help here, and save a worrying hobbit some fretting.
Cheers,

Absolutely, there is
a RIDDLE game
planned. I just didn't list all the things yet that we have going. I will put up an agenda shortly that shows everything in which order. But RIDDLES are going to be the top game, and we need some good prizes for the riddlers too. Anyone wishing to contribute some Riddle prizes, please let me know. Good prizes are needed for those who guess, and fine prizes for those who have real stumpers that no one can guess correctly.
Prepare your riddles everyone! You can find them both on the web and from the children in your lives. Riddles are an ancient hobbit game, and no tricky ones allowed either. Here are some samples to whet your minds on....
#
Why do dragons sleep all day?
-
They like to hunt Knights.
#
What grows down when it grows up?
-
a goose
Now those that rhyme are even better riddles. Here is one of my Ma's favorites:
# I welcome the day with a show of light,
I came here stealthily in the night.
I bathe the earthy stuff at dawn,
But by noon, alas! I'm gone.
What am I?

Fairest Ravenwing,
You are most welcome to help in anyway you would like. You are an honored friend of our kinship and always a joyous guest. Please let me know what you would like to do, and I am most certainly eager to get all the help that I can. This is going to be so big....
A GRAND CELEBRATION!
