My dear kinfolk, le suilon,

I have noticed that some are able to very quickly loot a fallen foe, and I wonder how they do this.  ((Is this some hotkey combo setup?  How is it done mechanically?  I have a key set to loot, but first I have to select the target, and somehow I think this is done much faster by others I see.  By the time I click the target, the fallen mob is looted.)) So if you would share this bit of information with me, I will adapt my style and use it.

Thanks for the assist,

My dear friend Digger,

Often it happens to fall to whom is in melee where those that stand further back in a fight are less likely to search a defeated foe first. ((Perhaps they are using the delete key to select the nearest item and the u key to use it?))

In general, since things are distributed to those that need things first and those of good fortune, I care little for who does the searching itself, so long as the spoils are shared justly.

((I do use delete then 'u' to loot the fallen.  But it just seemed there might be a shortcut or faster set of key combo's.  Anyone know of one?))

I usually just right click on the mob.  That seems to be what has worked best for me.  Often times you will have a chance to loot before the mob has even hit the ground.

Although I have come to take Orophor's view on things.  Most of what I want gets rolled on anyway, so it is of little consequence as it stands.  And most of the time I am soloing anyway so I just try to be quick so I can move on and kill more beasts quickly.

Perhaps they are using the ;target alias as explained here:

There is an autoloot option.  I have mine mapped to my scroll button on my mouse, my friend Tharak has a mouse with tons of buttons and uses one of those.

After you defeat a mob, just use the button you have mapped and it will loot everything on the body.  Also if you are a gatherer (i.e. prospector or forester) you can autoloot nodes if you have the correct tool in hand.

Noble Burglar on a Grey Horse,

Oh course, a great burglar would know the fastest way to loot anything.  This is so good news for me.  I can't wait to turn on that option and map to my scroll button.

Thank you, Master Tinolt.

Cheers,
