3  General / Off-topic / how to print a developers diary on: January 06, 2012, 01:44:21 PM
Anyone know how to print out a developers diary? It seems that I can only print the currant page that I am viewing and when I do that, the information in the left frame (if is a frame) prints out. Unfortunately the first page of the minstrel diary at least will print out 5 pages with nothing but the left frame entries for over 4 pages and the right frame blank. So doing something wrong.

I just want to be able to get all the information in the right frame that is about the topic, in this case minstrel, into one document that I can then print so I can read it off line while playing the game. Help appreciated.

Might be of interest, from the forums

Looks like a security screw up has occurred as rumored on web. See  official take/announcement at

Change those passwords and lets hope the breach was discovered before harm was done.
7  General / Off-topic / Rise of Isengard: Developer Diary New Stat Updates on: September 15, 2011, 11:55:16 AM
From the http://www.lotro.com/gameinfo/devdiaries/1276-rise-of-isengard-developer-diary-new-stat-updates

"New Primary Stat Contributions

We have finally decided to level the playing field for all classes as far as secondary characteristics go, we have deleted them all. No longer will there be any need to make petitions to get a Tactical Crit rating characteristic added to your class or complain that that other class gets more Parry rating from their characteristics than your class does. Instead we have increased the rating contributions from primary stats so that you will be able to have the ratings that you desire rather than the ones we gave you.

We have also changed the contribution to most classís Offence ratings to use their primary stat * 10. This means that Lore-masters, Minstrels and Runekeepers will use Will to contribute to their Melee offence. Hunters will use Agility for their Melee offence and Guardians, Champions and Wardens will use Might for their Ranged offence ratings. The Captainís offence ratings are unchanged.

Burglars are a special case. We decided to switch their primary offence rating to be based off of Agility rather than Might. We felt that this Agility focus more closely matched our vision for Burglars and would have minimal impact on current burglars as Agility was already highly desired. And yes all of you burglars out there, you will get 10 times your Agility contribution to Melee Offence."

Anyone test this out when playing the beta? I just do not understand the change. Does this mean as a Burglar no longer need Might at all for melee fights?

If I do not have might do I loose the ability to "reduce incoming damage" as it stands or block and parry pre ROI?  I have not seen alot of discussion about the above, but it looks like a huge change to the way things are done.

Happy to hear Origin/EA program is not required.

Just an FYI, there are concerns being expressed about EA's EULA on SWTOR. See

http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20110825/17454015690/eas-origin-service-wants-to-exchange-games-your-personal-data.shtml

As one comment pointed out, even the latest revision does not say they will not browse your computer, it just does not mention they will.

Pardon if this was covered before. For those who do not have the soundtrack for the early areas of LOTRO, check http://www.fileplanet.com/199894/190000/fileinfo/The-Lord-of-the-Rings-Online-Soundtrack.

Cannot find a legitamate site for all the soundtracks atm. Still looking.

I did come across a  site name rapssody, which seemed to be selling the above for 99cents each. Not sure how that works if they are a free download at fileplanet. Search of  Lotro forums gave me the fileplanet site and indicated that it was free from turbine, so can not figure out how someone else can charge for it.

13  Lord of the Rings Online / Items / Re: Difference between lvl 60 and 65 bags/weapons on: March 13, 2011, 05:20:21 AM
Ok, I see what he did. To determine the range, he looked at the lowest and highest value of the legacy at a given level, in this case 60 and 65 and the variations common, 3rd age and 2nd age.

Lots of work to do this with each legacy and item level to get all the values, and make sure to cover common (lvl60 and lower I guess), 3rd age lvl 65, 2nd age lvl 65,  oh and 1st age lvl 60).

I guess in a nutshell, the higer the lvl the higher its ratings go, but if they are not far apart (lets say 5 level difference based on the above article) you will not loose much by keeping the older legendary item.

Reading the LOTRO forums, cam across this link

http://lotro.mmorsel.com/2010/06/choosing-your-legendary-items.html

The interesting paragraph for me was titled "About Those Ratings"

It talks about a range of values being the same but the subset of that range is dependant on the lvl of the wpn/item. Have read it several times, but still confused. Do not understand how he made the determination. Anyway, thought it may be of interest.
