Title: Greetings, and well met!
Post by: Sereou on March 10, 2009, 09:02:34 AM
I joined the Kinship last night, and wanted to introduce myself formally.

My name is Sereou Orthoduin (first name means nothing, just made up, last name is Sindarin for River-Conqueror).
I am a Man of Bree, born and raised on rivers by a fisherman father.  Even after his death on the river, I continued to master it, tutored by a woodland Elf on a chance meeting (more detail can be found in my bio, to follow later =) ).

I began training as a Warden in defense of my home with the coming of the men that burned my home in Archet.  Though fell with spear and shield, they are only raised in an hour of need.  I much prefer to spend time with a fishing pole in hand, smoking a pipe or drinking a pint of ale!  I am a lover of art, music, and tales of all sorts.

Out of character:
My real name is Brad, if you prefer to use it, doesn't matter much to me =)  I am a huge fan of Tolkien, and have read most of his works at least twice (the Silmarillion is my favorite read).  Though I am very new to LOTRO, I have a good deal of experience in other MMOs (4 years EQ, 2 years EQ2, and a few others for short periods).  I also have been playing pen/paper RPGs for a long time, a little Vampire/Mage/other WhiteWolf stuff, but mostly D&D, which I've been playing off and on for about 11 years.

I'm still new to this game, but I'm getting the hang of it quite quickly, and I tend to be quick to learn new stuff.  My current crafting profession is as a Tinker, focused primarily on Cooking.  I don't play an instrument though, not because I don't want to, but because I don't have one/don't know how.  I do intend to learn =)

I look forward to meeting you all, and thank you very much for the invitation to join your Kin!

Welcome Master Sereou!

Glad to have you in our ranks.  Please let us know how we can help you and if I can be so bold if you are looking to learn an instrument please see Master Digger Goodsong as he is very proficient.  Once you chose an instrument I can speak with Rumper and he can craft one.

At your service,

Mithasul Greywind

((As you will see pretty much everyone is a Tolkien enthusiast))

Welcome Sereou!

I am glad you found your way to Nimrodel and our kinship. We try to relax and have fun, so if you need anything, just ask and we'll do our best to help.

My New Kinsman, Sereou, Greetings!

Welcome to the little family of elves and elf-friends.  I love to play music and would be absolutely delighted to spend an hour or so guiding you along the path.  We have fallen off of late with our dulcimer tones and tunes, but we do have a Band even.  While as a warden, you will not use your instruments quite the way I do in battle, you will find that playing music can make the worst of times and places quite a lot better.  It also annoys our dwarven brothers and sisters, which is another advantage. :D

I spend my weekdays in the Shire with my beloved Lilly, so I am only out adventuring on the weekends.  Please drop me a note and let's meet up somewhere and make music.  Bring a lute with you which you may purchase from any Bard.  ((Crafted instruments are minstrel only.))  One more thing, I can mentor you so you can play any instrument not just the ones that are natural to you.  For instance, the harp, bagpipes, and cowbell are often desired by others.

See you at the bar, new friend.

Digger
