Suilad mellyn,

I'm interested in becoming a member of your kinship. How should I proceed?

Hail Gilmalllen,

I would suggest getting in touch with our illustrious leader, Orophor, in game.  Hope to see you in-game soon, friend!

Le Suilon, Gilmallen,

We are always interested in having others join us in the struggle against the dark forces that now threaten Arda.  Please send a tell in game to our leader and Tur, Orophor to join.  Please share with us, the curious kin, some information about yourself interests and your character, if you would be so kind.

And please do make a note of our Gathering of the Kin party - July 22, 4pm EST under the Party Tree in the Shire.  Read all about it here under Ideas and Suggestions.  Come and have fun with a great RP kiinship.

Digger Goodsong,
A Very Very Busy Hobbit

Salutation and well met, friend. If you are here to lend a hand against the Black Tide in the fellowship of friends, then we are here on common purpose! As said you should contact Orophor, our Elvish leader, with any questions and for an invitation into the kinship. Please feel free to ask questions here as well, though; I tihnk between all of us we can muster some answers for you!

((OOC))

I'll share a bit about my actual self, as Gilmallen's past is better suited for an ingame lengthy conversation. ;)

I'm 25 years old and a veteran to gaming and online gaming. I'm a brazilian digital artist studying game design. My passion for Tolkien started when I was about twelve years old, when I read the trilogy for the first time. I have re-read it about five or six times, along with the Professor's other works such as the Hobbit and the Silmarillion. I confess I'm rather rusty with the latter, but I will take care of that small shortcoming soon enough. I've also been trying to learn some common sindarin sentences, so I'm not left in the blank as you guys discuss nuclear physics in quenya. ;)

My experience with gaming consists of all types of genres, since I've been playing for as long as I remember. RPGs are my favorite, since I also enjoy their table top precursors. As for online gaming, I started way back, before Ultima Online, when I played Elendor Mush (also Tolkien based) for some months. It was followed by Ultima Online, Everquest, Asheron's Call, Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest 2, and finally World of Warcraft and the Burning Crusade. The longest experience, however, was Ultima Legacy (I'm also a fan of Ultima), an Ultima Online player-run server, with enforced roleplaying rules, which I have been involved with for over 5 years both as a player, and on a lesser degree as a Game Master.

Sadly, aside of Legacy, which is completely faithful to the Ultima canon and has a community focused on social development, I never had much luck finding a suitable roleplaying atmosphere in any commercial game. I have high expectations for this one, which I just started. So far I'm very impressed with the production value and the developer's concern to remain true to Tolkien's books. The community also seems to be more friendly and mature. However, as expected, roleplayers are still difficult to find.

I think that's it...should you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer.

Cheers!

Ralph

Hello Gilmallen,

I added you to my friends list in-game, as soon as we are both on at the same time, I will contact you. You could also seek out Jasz, who is an active officer. I plan on promoting a few more officers soon so you will not always have to wait on myself or Jasz.

As you may already know, our kinship is a band of elves and elf-friends. We try to balance role-playing and questing, with things like raids and monster play being possible, but they are not our focus. There are no restrictions on character race, class, level or playtime. Our goal is to keep the kinship a friendly place to relax and have fun, so things are not very formal.

I try to be helpful to those that are in need not just for our kin but in general, so if you need something just let me know.

Thanks,
Orophor

Thank you, I will be seeking you out as soon as a login.

I'm happy to hear about the guild's purpose as it's exactly what I've been looking for.

See you in Middle Earth!

 :)

It is good to meet you, Ralph. I have been gaming for a long time myself in all genres, but RPing is the only genuinely satisying one for me. I never played WoW, but I played a lot of Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2. LOTRO trumps both of those, however, just for its focus on lore and immersion :)

It has no bearing as far as the kinship goes, but what level is/are your character(s)? My captain is a going on lv 30 now, and it is difficult to find kin folk to fellowship with on a regular basis that are about the same level. Just curious.

Hope to see you on-line!

I started last thursday, but I shall be reaching level 20 before next friday. I'm afraid it'll take a little longer before I can adventure with you guys.  :)

I'm a big fan of Neverwinter Nights and every other Bioware game, from Baldur's Gate to Knights of the Old Republic.  ;)

Good Kin Gilmallen,

Your level looks real friendly to this lil Hobbit who is now 21 Minstrel.  Look me up after the party, and we will wander about together a bit.  I look forward to traveling with ya.

If any of you find yourselves in need of a guardian, no matter what level the quest, just let me know.  I Know that there were many times when I was in the late 20's-30's that I had a very difficult time getting groups together.

Welcome good Gilmallen!

I am sure you will quickly pass my good dwarf Kierin by in level, but if per chance we meet and can travel together soon I would be honored.

I would be glad to travel with your dwarf! Gilmallen on the other hand might be a tad more bitter, being a refugee of Menegroth, but he's willing to give dwarves another chance.  :D

Le Suilon, new friend,

We are a kinship on the Nimrodel server.  We find this server is not heavily loaded with folks, but there are enough to join up with for adventures yet lacking the frustrating domination around farming certain areas or drops.  You may read about our kinship on this site, of course.

We do take the values that we share seriously.  So you will find many different people in the kinship from around the globe, but all sharing a common interest in creating a bit of joy and fun instead of focusing on simple leveling or achievement.  Our Tur or Leader, Orophor, often says, 'It's joy that chases the shadows away.'  And he also reminds us that, 'RL always takes priority over VL.'  He is a wise and strong leader of whom we are most proud.  We are a generous kinship among ourselves, and we often share with other kinships and good friends of common values.  Some of us are very experienced MMO players; others are new.  Some are at the end-game; others just beginning.  Some are able to play often; others once a week or so. But we all have fun and feel an uncommon bond of friendship with each other.

Please, give me a tell when you enter Middle Earth, and I would be glad to meet you and adventure with you through you beginning levels as you learn.  The khazad are fine folk and offer many things in our common struggle against the darkness now threatening all of Arda.  I hope to see you in game soon.

Cheers,
Digger
A Merry Hobbit Minstrel
