Title: Spreading the Joy of the Tinnu
Post by: Tuiliel on January 30, 2011, 06:20:42 PM
My beloved friends, the true strength of the Tinnu is in the light and hope that we bring to the weary warriors of our dark times. We are fierce enemies, it is true, and our bows and blades cause the blackest of foes to cower. But it is our spirit of fellowship that kindles the flame of victory in the hearts of the free peoples.

It has been a long, bitter winter, but soon the light of spring will shine upon us. It is time to remind ourselves of that fact and celebrate our love for our friends and for the beauty of Middle Earth.

It is in that spirit that I call you to a gathering of the Tinnu! Our preliminary plan is February 18, 2010, 8:00pm. However, I am open to other suggestions.

Bring songs to play and tales to tell. If you would like to perform something, please let Tuiliel know, and she will prepare a schedule of events.

Where shall we have this gathering? That is up to you! As we are celebrating love and fellowship, send Tuiliel your suggestion for the most beautiful or romantic location, and the officers will discuss and choose the perfect spot. Please keep lower level kinmates in mind when making your suggestion, but we can arrange escorts if necessary. So far, we have had suggestions of the following locations:

Ost Barandor (Breeland, the ruins high above Starmere Lake)
Pierson's Farm, in the apple orchard (Andrath)
Silverwell (Chetwood)
Blue Grotto (Evendim)
Celondim or the surrounding areas

Keep the suggestions coming for locations and activities! I hope to see all of you there.

No galu govad gen,
Tuiliel

Ms. Tui,

I shall be most pleased to represent the Goodsongs at this coming Gathering.  And I will prepare some small tidbit to share as well.  However, you know that I am not the skilled writers like you and some others.  But perhaps a small Shire tale will cheer the folks.  I might know a love story even.  Oh well.  Now to where, I have a place that Digger and I love above others.  How do I suggest that?  Send you a mail or what?

Gratefully yours,
Lilly Penworth Goodsong

We wll be honored to have you in attendance Lilly! For site suggestions, please send me a letter through the post.

One more suggestion has come in to add to our list for consideration: Rivendell.

I second the notion of Rivendell. Particularly, I'd like to point out that the East Porch of the last Homely House is both lovely and quiet.

Newer members might wish an escort if they travel at night through the Trollshaws (or have a tendency to get lost), but I've made it through at less than 20 with a couple of classes so it is certainly not too inaccessible.

Rivendell was the place that Digger and I wanted to suggest.  It is our favorite romantic spot where we often picnic together.  Plenty of quiet and natural beauty.

Rivendell's charm lends itself well.

I have done some investigating this weekend, and Rivendell's loveliest locations tend to be too small for a group, or filled with NPCs that talk, which can interfere with performances and conversations. However, I think there may be a couple of spots that might work. I also found a lovely area in Green Hills in the Shire, with a flowery hillside, waterfall, etc. that might make a nice spot. I can transport lower level players to Rivendell, and I can also find somewhere on that end of the Shire to set my campsite for fast access.

So if anyone has some time today or tomorrow before I send out the official announcement, I'd be delighted to get feedback on the following locations:

In Rivendell: East Porch of the Last Homely House (my only concern about this spot is the lighting--I don't know about others, but I get very dark shadows over about half the area no matter what I do with my settings)

Also in Rivendell: Haven of Orladion (28.9 S, 3.8 W, large gazebo west of the AH) One NPC but otherwise a good size and pretty location

Shire: Green Hills (33.9S, 66.8W), near Woodhall, across the river/waterfalls from the big brigand camp

Send me your thoughts via mail or in-game, and I'll send out the invitation Monday night or Tuesday. Looking forward to another wonderful Tinnu event!

Alas Amryth and I are out of town and shall not return till the 21st. Imam sure the party will be grand as is our norm. Any of the three suggested venues would be well-suited, but the haven sounds best to me.

Greetings everyone! Due to several kinmate conflicts this week, we are postponing the party until next Friday, 2/25, 8pm. Same location in Green Hills Country. I hope to see you there!
