Title: Epic Quests: The Calling
Post by: Mordorrain on November 27, 2007, 03:06:35 PM
Mae Govannen Kinfolk

After being stuck on 8.1 for almost 4 weeks, and while helping mid-level kin complete quests, I have noticed that kinfolk making their way lately through the lower and mid-levels are finding it difficult to complete the Epic's because of a lack of their levels.

So I am requesting ALL KINFOLK respond to this posting by putting what EPIC Book and Chapter they are on so we can create groups and I will join in when I can to help you out.  Perhaps this can become a dynamic list that we keep up to date, im not sure.

So ALL LEVEL KIN please respond to this posting with your Epic quest (book and chapter).  I will start it off.

Mordorrain:  Book 9 Chapter 1

Once we get everyone on here I will try and put groups together and get the ones accomplished that your levels allow.

yours
Mordorrain

Good Thinking Mordorrain!

Hosklar     8.5
Palfo         2.8 (I think, it is the last one either way)  He is also on 3.5 (the freeing dori, tending the glades, and defending trestlebridge trio)
Aldramed  Don't even go there.  I'm not even sure if he has started book 1 yet.

My beloved kinfolk,

I am still working on book 4 and must now return to Rivendell for Glorfindel, then the difficult parts begin.  I have also started book 6 somehow and need to make the rubbings in Angmar for that.  However, that is still a tad above my competencies so it will be delayed.  Book 5 isn't even begun yet.  I would welcome any help in completing these.

Cheers,

Fellow Kinfolk

I will leave this thread up one more week then I will put together a grid and start scheduling "adventures" to get everyone through the Epic's their levels allow.

Please get the word out to those that dont post often.  I will then post a grid and we can start scheduling.

Yours
Mordorrain

What has become of this?  I am most interested in pursuing this as I have been lingering on Book 8 for many months.

We will need to find someone else who can pick up this charge as our beloved Mordorrain has moved on to another kinship.

Good kin,

I will volunteer to organize this.  Please update your quest information along with the best day(s) and time(s) for you to be part of an Epic quest.  This may involve you helping someone else so that they can help you.

Yours,
Ariadan

My Friend Ariadan,

Thank you for putting this together.  Of course, I will help anyone do those for which I am qualified.  Currently, I am finishing Bk 4 (at the end now) and have nothing on Bk 5 but have started Bk 6 somehow and need rubbings from Angmar.  My best times are weekends, Friday during the day/evenings and Sunday afternoon/evenings.

I want to get these done as quickly as I am able now.

Cheers,
Digger

Kinfolk of Tinnu-Uin-Galadhrim

As I traveled with Timothus the other day to help him complete Book 2, I will always be available to run anyone through anything (except Book 10 - hint hint Hosklar).

If you post here and need my help you will have my bow.

Yours
Mordorrain

I am on the last part of Book 5 and the first of 7.  I am anxious to get to Book 8 as is Palfo.  Can we make arrangements with anyone to help us?

I would love to.  I am sooooo stuck on book 9.  I figured out all the quests except 9.3(No idea exactly what I'm supposed to be doing there ???)

My Good Friend and Master of Scholars,

I shall look forward to your help when you have time. Both Palfo and I are stuck at the last step of Bk 4 now and then jump to Book 7.  Perhaps we can knock this out during the weekend coming up.

Meanwhile, you might find this guide helpful for Epic Quests: http://www.lotroquests.com/Epic-Book-IX.html (http://www.lotroquests.com/Epic-Book-IX.html)  The response time is sluggish and the details are scanty, but it serves me from time to time.

Dear kin,

There are several of us that are trying to complete books.  I suggest that we band together to assist Digger and Palfo with finishing book 5 and 7.  Afterwards (perhaps another evening), we can then proceed with book 8 (of which we three minstrels need) and then onto book 9 with Imara and Fireborn.

Perhaps we could get started this weekend and we will need one more to round out the fellowship?

Yours,
Ariadan

Great idea, Ariadan.  I am available Friday most of the day/evening and on Sunday evenings.  Also, I am an EST heart-timer, so count me in for this.

I'm currently stalled on Book 10, myself, but I'd be glad to help people get caught up to that point.  Unfortunately, my availability as of late has been slim, and that situation will continue for at least a couple more weeks, but then I foresee being around much more often again.  In the meantime, if I (or any of my alts) should happen to be around when anyone wants to do these, I'll be happy to help out.
