Sometimes, Master Goodsong, there is no plan that can be found satisfactory. It's time like those when you just have to have the courage to take up your sword -so to speak, of course- and step forward.

Just go sit by the Brandywine and play some songs, maybe on the harp.

Sound good. Even during the week, a two or three man show could probably scour Angmar for shards pretty quickly I'm betting.

Alfrun can provide the ancient silver (I probably have some in the vault;) at any pace, I'll send what I have left. I'll send the ingots to Calmegil today Smiley

I will see if I can take off Friday for this... Alfrun's just got to pick up all the quests from the little camp with the two dwarvse south of the Bitter Stair. Other than that, she's got the other ones, from Rivendell, Arifael for the giants, etc.

I'll keep everyone posted. Should know soon.

I dumped the info into a Excel spreadsheet format as well, so you could sort by area, drop type, etc. I can send it to anyone who wants it. Let me know.

One of my recent hobbies has been finding and laying down shard droppers. It just happens to feel like you're really accomplishing something because the fights are a little more difficult than usual and they have a good payoff as well.

I found this website that details the drops, area/coordinates, and notes about the mob.

It befell that the party entered the Mirkwood without event, without so much as even a spook of horses or even the slightest stirring or movement seen off the road that might set someone's imagination running. Of the two forces, one the ill-reputed forest and the other Captain Einar, the greater of the two was the good captain for the company; we moved along at a fair pace and moved a distance every day through the still forest that seemed to please him. He was impetuous at the lead of the company, seeming to fear nothing.

It was at this time that I had begun to take an interest in the sword given me. The initial excitement and fear of the journey, the Mirkwood, the spider stories I heard going around without end, and the anticipation of the road ahead had worn off after a fashion.

In the evenings, directly after tending the mules, I took to familiarizing myself to its weight and balance. I was amazed at how difficult it was to swing in such a way that the cutting edge was always straight. I was raised as a mill keeper after all, not a man-at-war. Still, there was a certain satisfaction (a pleasure even) in a controlled and sure swing, and the more time I spent with the hilt in my oft-clumsy grasp the more I became engrossed by it.

"You should take a high guard." It was Captain Einar's voice that broke through the low conversations of the distant groups of soldiery. I immediately felt flush in the presence of the grizzled captain, feeling as though even the very way I held the sword was clumsy. He drew his own blade, one much like my own, took it up by the hilt with both hands. "Some would teach otherwise, but I'm a bit of an old boy myself. Try it."

More sheepishly than I would have liked, I mimicked his motion in taking up a high guard.

"Keep both hands apart when you grip, one near the pommel. The lower will afford all the more leverage."

I did as instructed.

"When you down stroke, go at angles - at the neck. Like this." He demonstrated into the cool night air, his lashes concise and quick, always resuming his high guard immediately for the next motion like he were on a recoil spring. "You will find orc-kind enjoy this one." He may have grinned crookedly, but I wasn't sure.

I assumed the posture and stepped into my swings, hoping to please my instructor and meet his standard, wondering all the while if we'd really be combatting orcs.

"Well done, Staffen," he remarked, sheathing his sword. "Speed and confidence will come with time, but for now learn about control. Never overreach. Never let the point of the blade fall too low. You forfeit your control."

"I understand," was my reply, absorbing the tutelage eagerly. There seemed to be an unchanneled force inside of me that was finally getting direction and cause.

"You remind me of your grandsire," Einar then said, half-turning as though to return to his quarters, but having been compelled otherwise to speak of something on his mind. "You have his face and certainly his height, I think."

"I did not know him," I replied, and I did not know what else I might say for I truly had not known Staffen Son of Holger as I would have liked.

"It is a shame," the captain replied. "I will have to tell you of him sometime."

You really should, Hosk. I know Staff has helped others get it a few times and has always passed on it as well. Alas, I don't think there will be any end to the folks that need it, so I would roll away Cheesy
