map of middle earth

"You may tarry, or come back, or turn aside into other paths, as chance allows. The further you go, the less easy will it be to withdraw; yet no oath or bond is laid on you to go further than you will. For you do not yet know the strength of your hearts, and you cannot foresee what each may meet upon the road."

-- J. R. R. Tolkien from The Fellowship of the Ring, Book II Chapter III: The Ring Goes South (Orophor's favorite Lord of the Rings quote)

We are a band of elves and elf-friends that are enemies of the Shadow. We shall not forsake Middle-earth, nor shall we abandon the Edain to the darkness. It is through our kinship that we may band together, sharing our strength and carrying the Light of the West with us to battle the orcs, trolls and other enemies of the free people of Arda. Our founder, Lillassea Ornendil Dath'anar foresaw that the hour of need was at hand, so she called to herself those of like mind and skill to take up the cause one last time ere we depart for Aman. Those that wish to join our kinship should seek our leader Kethrandir or one of our officers:

  • Ashwil
  • Digger
  • Emrys
  • Endingwen
  • Iryanna
  • Lillassea
  • Mithasul
  • Orophor
  • Perigard
  • Thrilldonus

We accept new members on an individual basis. We welcome people that share our balanced view of the game and life, that have fun as elves and elf-friends in Arda, role-playing and questing in a small and informal kinship. We have no restrictions in terms of races, classes, levels or playtimes, all that we ask is that your character is on the Landroval server of Lord of the Rings Online, and is elven or an elf-friend to support the background of the kinship.

Our play-style is informal and collegial. Since our founding we have been a kinship of equals. We value respect, participation, and affiliation. There is no kin activity that is limited to officers; each and every member is invited to plan, organize and lead events. Nor do officers wield heavy authority over the membership, since we are all here freely with no oaths or bonds to constrain our coming, going, or returning. The time we share together is a gift freely given and joyfully received, with no burdens and nothing to earn or attain.

All that we ask is that our members honour our two guiding principles:

  • First above all is friendship, for joy is the greatest proof against shadow.
  • Second, we place a high value on elven courtesies and seek to conduct our efforts with the highest of standards in both manners and fellowship.
